Hexagonal Wire Mesh Weight Calculator
For chicken wire, hex netting, and gabion mesh. Calculates weight per m² and total roll weight from mesh opening, wire diameter, and roll dimensions.

Formula
kg/m² = 2.04 × d² × ρ ÷ (M + d)
where ρ = density (g/cm³), d = wire diameter (mm), M = mesh opening (mm, flat-to-flat internal distance of the hexagonal cell). The constant 2.04 accounts for the three-directional wire geometry of the hexagonal weave pattern plus twisted joint overlap. Example: 25 mm mesh, 0.9 mm galvanized wire → ≈ 0.50 kg/m². A 1.0 × 50 m roll ≈ 25 kg.
Theoretical estimate for reference only; confirm with factory before booking freight. Galvanizing and PVC coating add weight — galvanizing typically adds 3–5%, PVC coating 15–30%.
