Welded Wire Mesh
Welded wire mesh is made by resistance-welding cross wires into a rigid grid. It comes in rolls (agriculture, fencing) and panels (construction, machine guards, shelving). Anping produces both in galvanized, PVC-coated and stainless steel.
Common specifications
| Opening (mm) | Wire (mm) | Form | Weight (kg/m²) | Application |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 12.7 × 12.7 | 1.0 | Roll / panel | 2.43 | Aviaries, cages |
| 25 × 25 | 1.2 | Roll / panel | 1.86 | Shelving, guards |
| 50 × 50 | 2.5 | Panel | 1.45 | Fence, construction |
| 50 × 100 | 3.0 | Panel | 1.38 | Fence, hoarding |
| 100 × 100 | 4.0 | Panel | 1.32 | Heavy fencing |
| 150 × 150 | 5.0 | Panel | 1.15 | Reinforcement, security |
Standard panel: 1.22 × 2.44 m or 2.0 × 3.0 m. Calculate any spec →
Finishes
- Electro-galvanized — cheapest, for indoor/dry use
- Hot-dip galvanized — zinc 40–60 g/m² (≈30+ µm), outdoor service 10+ years; specify zinc coating weight in the PO
- PVC / powder coated — colors (green, black, white), adds 0.3–0.5 mm to wire diameter, popular for fences
- Stainless (304) — food, pharma, marine
What to specify when ordering
- Opening (mm) — center-to-center or clear opening, state which
- Wire diameter (mm) before coating
- Finish and zinc coating weight (g/m²)
- Sheet/panel dimensions and edge treatment (flush cut or overhang)
- Quantity (sheets or m²) and destination port for FOB quote

FAQ
Roll vs panel — which is cheaper?
Rolls are cheaper per m² (less welding handling) but panels are faster to install and hold shape. For fences over 1.8 m high, panels are standard.
How long does hot-dip galvanizing last outdoors?
With 60 g/m² zinc in a temperate climate, expect 15–20 years before red rust. Coastal or industrial air shortens this significantly — ask for 100+ g/m² or PVC coating.
Typical MOQ?
Stock panels: one bundle (~50–100 panels). Custom size/finish: usually 500+ panels. Anping factories often accept mixed container loads.
What's the difference between electro and hot-dip galvanizing?
Electro-galvanized: thin zinc layer (5–10 g/m²), smooth surface, cheaper, for indoor use. Hot-dip galvanized: thick zinc layer (40–60+ g/m²), matte gray, superior corrosion resistance for outdoor use. Always specify zinc weight in your PO.
Can I get custom panel sizes?
Yes. Anping factories cut panels to custom dimensions. Common max sizes: 2.0×3.0 m or 2.4×6.0 m. Larger panels may need special packaging and container loading plans.
How do I calculate panel weight for shipping?
Use our welded mesh calculator — enter opening size, wire diameter, panel dimensions to get kg per panel. For container planning, see the container loading calculator.
What quality checks should I perform on arrival?
Check: (1) wire diameter with caliper, (2) opening size with ruler, (3) zinc coating thickness with magnetic gauge, (4) weld strength by hand pressure, (5) surface for bare spots or coating defects. Request third-party inspection (SGS/BV) for large orders.
